Data Collection
Bus Chill is designed to work completely offline. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
Location Data
Location data is used solely for alarm functionality — to calculate distance to your selected bus stop and trigger the alarm at the right time. This data:
- Stays on your device
- Is never sent to our servers
- Is only accessed when you explicitly set an alarm
- Is deleted when the alarm is dismissed or completed
App Usage
We do not use analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind. Your route searches, favorite stops, and usage patterns remain private on your device.
Third-Party Services
Bus Chill does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Data Storage
All app data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage:
- Route database: Pre-loaded bus routes and stops (read-only)
- User preferences: Your theme choice, favorite stops, and recent searches
- Active alarms: Temporary data for active trip tracking
This data is backed up via iCloud if you have iCloud Backup enabled in iOS Settings. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Permissions
Bus Chill requests the following iOS permissions:
- Location (When In Use): Required for alarm distance calculation
- Notifications: Required to trigger alarms when approaching your stop
You can revoke these permissions anytime in iOS Settings → Bus Chill.
Children's Privacy
Bus Chill does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
